The only federal agent and the only one outside of the Howard County, MD Police

Larry Forletta began his professional law enforcement career with the Maryland State
Police and developed an outstanding reputation amongst his peers. During his career
with the State Police he has investigated numerous crimes including homicide, rape,
robbery, burglary, fraud, theft, motor vehicle accidents, and was a member of the
Tactical Unit which respond to major disturbances including riots, coal miner strikes
etc. After transferring to the State Police Narcotics Unit this was the beginning
which lead him to 21 years of an outstanding career with the U.S. Drug Enforcement
Administration (DEA) working in the field offices in Washington DC, Baltimore, Maryland
and Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Larry had developed an expertise as an “undercover”
investigator with the State Police. His investigative expertise led to hundreds
of convictions in “state” court which lead him to be recognized has an “Expert Witness”.
Larry continued to develop into one of DEA’s finest investigators and became a recognized
Expert in complex conspiracy and money laundering investigations U.S. District Court
in Maryland, Virginia and elsewhere. Larry’s investigations lead him to extensive
travel throughout the continental United States and several foreign countries. Larry
became a highly decorated veteran of the DEA receiving hundreds of letters from
state prosecutors, federal prosecutors, local, state, and federal law enforcement
officials. In addition, Larry received numerous awards from DEA, and local, state
and federal law enforcement and the U.S. Military. One of Larry’s most important
traits was the ability to work with others which he believes lead to a successful
law enforcement career. Larry represented DEA as a Public Speaker, trained over
several hundred local, state, federal law enforcement and the U.S. Military. Larry
has been a voluntary consultant to local government officials and a member of a
local high school climate committee regarding school violence and drug abuse. Finally,
Larry could have not been successful if it wasn’t for all of the wonderful people
he came in contact and made a difference in his life and career. |
